(Prerequisites: BIOL 141 - BIOL 142, CHEM 232 - CHEM 233, and any one of the following: BIOL 350, BIOL 361, or CHEM 350)

Viruses constitute the largest, most diverse group of evolving entities known. This course will explore how viruses are classified, studied, and controlled at the molecular level using current methods in virology. We will survey the exquisite diversity of the viral realms, including virion structure, tropism, genome composition, and replication cycles. Three hours lecture. Fall only.
